Working with Elizabeth and Liam to plan their wedding day was a dream. I love working with out of town couples because it allows me to be their feet on the ground and to introduce them to all the best our wedding community has to offer, and these two love birds were no different. Elizabeth and her family are from the Dallas, Texas area, and Liam’s family is mostly based in Philadelphia. That meant that the beautiful Tennessee Valley made the perfect destination for their family and friends to gather in celebration. Additionally, from the jump Elizabeth knew that she wanted to celebrate her Mexican heritage and make sure that her Spanish speaking family and friends felt just as loved, welcomed, and included as their English speaking guests. That meant finding a Church with live translation services, a bilingual DJ service, and a Mariachi band that could perform at cocktail hour, as well as planning Mexican snacks for cocktail hour and signage in English and Spanish for the reception. Planning a wedding with this level of intentionality can seem a bit more complex (and it often actually is!) as it requires more thought and well, more planning, but it really is a beautiful labor of love. There’s nothing more beautiful than creating an environment where every guest feels welcomed, wanted, and part of the celebration. Elizabeth and Liam also included plenty of details central to them and their relationship—a vintage car, a knife from their time in the Marines used to cut their cake, a vintage rosary from Liam’s grandmother, and plenty of special songs as well. It was such an honor to be trusted with the responsibility of bringing this day together. All my love to the brand new Mr. and Mrs. Poole!
