THE MORNING OF
How you spend the morning of your wedding can really set the tone for the day. Abby spent her morning in a suite at The Read House getting glammed in the cutest satin pajama set surrounded by her girls. The champagne was flowing, laughter and snacks were abundant, and the vibes were EXCELLENT. Noah + the groomsmen crew were just down the street at Hotel Clemons (formerly Bode) sipping rare bourbon and learning to tie bow-ties, a right of passage for all grooms. Both approaches felt so authentically them, and set the stage for a perfectly paced and intentional day.
THE bride and groom
I’ve known Abby for a while—we had a couple of classes together at UTC and I’ve admired her sense of style from the moment I met her. It’s rare for her to not be the best dressed person in the room and I knew her wedding look would be to die for. Her gown was from BHDLN and featured a removable train, and she chose to add a bow for a fun (and perfectly Abby) reception option. And of course, it’s all about the accessories, and the satin Erica Koesler gloves, Kate Spade earrings, and cozy white fur shawl completed the look. Noah was the textbook example of a classic done well in a custom tux with a white dinner jacket. They were such a gorgeous pair and Alexis’ documentary style photos complimented the classic glam look.
THE crew
I knew a couple of folks in Abby + Noah’s wedding party (Chattanooga is a small town, y’all!) so I was looking forward to spending the day with them. Don’t get me wrong—I wasn’t surprised that they were one of the most fun wedding parties ever— it doesn’t take long after meeting Abby and Noah to assume that they’d only surround themselves with amazing people. But this crew had everything you need in a wedding party: they were unrelentingly positive and top-notch hype men they were on time and aware of what was going on, and they partied HARD. You really couldn’t ask for more and I just know Abby and Noah felt the same.
THE ceremony
There are few things I love more than a personal ceremony, and Abby and Noah’s was just that. Noah’s law school classmate turned dear friend Veronica delivered a beautiful ceremony, and Abby’s sister and Maid of Honor Lauren gave a reading. And then, after the kiss and in one of my favorite touches ever, the couple shared in a champagne toast—their first as husband and wife. Truly a perfect, personal touch! And for the recessional, their dog Maple just had to join in on the fun. Live harp by Rachel Payne gave the whole experience an ethereal vibe.
THE party
The Read House is such an iconic venue and sets the stage for a grand event from the drop. The team here kept the food and drinks flowing and Party Time Productions ensured there was never a dull moment and the dance floor was constantly packed. It helps that Abby and Noah have impeccable taste (their first dance was to Butterflies by Kacey Musgraves, cue me sobbing in the corner!!) Custom matchbox favors and a sparkler exit with a classic car “getaway” sealed the deal—this was one of the most gorgeous events I’ve ever been a part of. So may intricate details and personal touches made for a truly unforgettable wedding day and it was an honor to be trusted to bring it together. All my love to this sweet couple!
